Military Families at Church Farm School

Moving often and transferring schools is tough for kids, especially as they approach high school. The four years of high school are when your son starts thinking more about his future — where he wants to go to college, what he wants to major in, and what’s possible for him career-wise. You hope he’ll also start becoming more self-sufficient as he learns to balance the responsibilities of school, athletics, extracurriculars and a social life.

For over a century, Church Farm School, an all-boys high school in Exton, Pennsylvania, has been providing a college preparatory education for both boarding and day students that prepares young men for college, careers and to be leaders in their communities.

A Church Farm Education Can Provide Your Son With:

Stability.
Church Farm School students enjoy consistent structure and support as their days follow a schedule full of rigorous academics, engaging electives and extracurriculars, athletics and activities. Boarding students live in cottages with faculty who serve as “parents", sharing meals, mentorship and plenty of fun. Each student is assigned an advisor and a college counselor to help them navigate these four years of high school and plan for their next chapter.

Brotherhood.
Church Farm School students are part of a unique group of high-achieving young men from all over the world who represent various socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures. As Church Farm School is all-boys, certain social pressures are taken off of students — they’re able to be themselves here. They are seen and known by their teachers and friends. From sports to meals to activities, students have a built-in support system.

Character.
Church Farm School students have strong character. While they’re here, they will challenge themselves, try new things, play sports and serve as student leaders. They will work continuously on life skills such as self-discipline, time-management and the self-sufficiency needed for college and a career.
"I started to realize that everyone around me was invested in giving me the foundation needed to be successful in life. I started to read on my own, I started to take more difficult classes, I began wrestling and working out and I started to form stronger relationships with the dorm faculty and teachers.

In what other school do you take a pre-calculus class with a doctorate of math and there are only nine other students in the class? Where else can you live in the dorm with a faculty member educated at Harvard literally helping every single night with your homework? … It’s important to provide some continuity of education … By my senior year at CFS, I had really done a 180, and become the person I was supposed to be.”

— Jonathan Harrar, Class of 2002, Captain in the U.S. Army and a defense attorney for the Judge Advocate General (JAG)
Financial aid is available.
A common misperception of boarding school is that it’s out of reach financially. At Church Farm School, our mission is to make a college preparatory education financially accessible to a diverse group of young men with academic ability and good character. We have a sliding scale tuition model, which makes financial aid accessible for a wider range of household incomes. For more information, please visit our Tuition and Financial Aid page.
